Starting his journey on July 10, 2023, from Indonesia, he traveled through 18 countries, proving that electric motorcycles can be reliable for long-distance touring. Roman Nedielka claims to be the first person to embark on a solo world tour using an electric motorcycle, the Zero DSR/X. This journey, which began in Jakarta, Indonesia, marks a significant milestone in the world of electric vehicles. While electric cars have seen growing popularity, electric motorcycles are still in the early stages of adoption, particularly for long-distance travel.
Roman’s mission was clear: to show the world that electric motorcycles can handle the challenges of long journeys across diverse terrains and distances. Throughout his journey, Roman traversed mountains, deserts, and bustling cities, all the while maintaining a commitment to sustainability and exploring new frontiers in transportation.
Embarking on a world tour with an electric motorcycle requires a great deal of planning and preparation. Roman approached his journey as if it were a daily work routine, starting his travels around 8 or 9 AM each day. He would ride until 5 or 6 PM, then rest at hotels before continuing the journey the next day.
Roman also ensured that he had all the essential tools and equipment needed for his ride. He carried along charging cables, an extension cord, a socket wrench, tie straps, a wireless tire pump, a raincoat, and a motorcycle body cover. These items helped him stay prepared for unexpected situations on the road, ensuring that he could handle any challenges during his journey.
